Aboriginal Day Inuvik
The Feast
In the late afternoon, they brought in many tables of food. It included several caribou dishes, fish, and bannock. The
elders were invited first and then the visitors.
In the evening, this young lady (below)
introduced the various drum dances.
These photos were all taken after
10:00 p.m.!
The young fellow at the left was very
good, dancing many dances with the
older men.
What a delightful day we had. We never specifically planned to be in Inuvik for Solstice and we were not aware of the
festivities when we planned the trip.
