The most challenging part of this trip was the several portages. The first one was two miles. I managed to carry this 70
pound canoe on 2 two mile portages. After that I let our guide be the hero.
This was a flat water trip of approximately 70 miles. We had severe winds some days paddling into two and three foot waves
across lakes like this one.
Winds from the north were a warning of foul weather. It also brought flocks of geese catching the winds for their trip south.
