Tarcoles River
When we arrived at Hotel Villa Lapas on the Pacific Coast. they proposed that we take a birding tour at 6:00 a.m. We were picked
up at our hotel at 5:40 a.m. When we arrived at the Tarcoles River, we were surprised to see that we were going on the Crocodile
Man Tour. It was a 72 passenger boat, just the two of us, a wonderful guide by the name of Douglas, and a pilot named Kevin.
The trip was great. So good that we immediately booked a second morning with Douglas again.
Iguanas basked in the sun on branches above the river.
Osprey, next two pictures.
Lots of crabs and crab tunnels in the mud along the bank.
Scarlett McCaw very high in the trees.
There were lots of swallows flying around the boat, much to fast to photograph. This mangrove swallow posed long enough for me
to get his picture.
There were crocodiles up to 17 feet long.
