Paddling the Green River
Our late October 2003 trip down the Green River began in Moab with a quick stop at Arches National Monument just
before sunset shortly after a violent storm came through. The next day we went to Tex's which drove us and our
canoe to the put in point.
Our trip took place in Canyon Lands
National Park where the Green River
(above) flows into the Colorado River
(right).
This is a great river for a beginner as it is flat with a moderate current.
Moments later we arrived at the confluence of the Green and
the Colorado. The next day the jet boat came down and took
us on a 50 mile ride up the river to Moab.
The most exciting moment came when we heard a bang like a
gun shot. We turned around and it was two male long horn
sheep engaged in conflict.
