This is our report on our trip to Newfoundland. Our trip lasted 23 days. We flew into Deer Lake on June 7 and flew out of St.
John on June 30. We stayed an average of three days in the following locations: Gros Morne National Park, Twillingate, Fogo
Island, Bonavista, Placentia, Bay Bulls, and St. John's. Most people try to cover more territory including the ferry to Labrador,
but we wanted more time to absorb the atmosphere of the places we visited.
Below are links to pictures from our trip in Newfound. If you click the first link, there will be a link at the bottom of each page to

Even though Newfoundland is at the same latitude as Seattle, it looks other worldly. It is a unique place. Except for St. John's,
there was no chain lodging. Rather, most of the places we stayed had only 4 to ten rooms and were like bed and breakfasts.
The people of Newfoundland are very friendly. We went for nature, but there is a lot of history here. During the first part of our
trip, most of the tourists we met were Canadians although we did see more foreign travellers as we traveled to the eastern side
of the island around St. John's.
Our trip was arranged by Ivy Tobin of Maxxim Vacations (709-754-6666). We told Ivy what we wanted to accomplish and how
long we wanted to spend, and she arranged all the lodging and car rental as well as a few extras. We highly recommend Ivy
Tobin and Maxxim Vacations. The company is the largest agency by far in Newfoundland doing these type of arranged trips.
One of the B&B's told us that when they added new rooms, Maxxim would not book those rooms until they had come and
stayed in those rooms themselves.
