Snowy Owls - Day 2 continued and Day 3
Day 3
Day 3 was supposed to be another cold day with little wind. It was not as cold as the previous two days, but oh was it windy. We got down to
the parking lot at 6:50 a.m. and waited fifteen minutes before leaving.

This was our first owl.

I had barely taken three or four pictures when this owl flew off. At first I wondered if it was me, but then I saw a really big dog, it almost looked
like a wolf, running right where the owl had been.
Soon we found two more owls. Then they flew off. Again I started to blame myself only to notice nine owls had all taken off over a wide area in
response to a turkey vulture.  How exciting!
This owl must have had a very good meal.
This owl was unusual in that it sat on a sand bank. We spent about 40 minutes taking pictures of it and the owl above which were an equal
distance from us.
in flight
If only I had been able to  get the flight shots head on. But for 46 hours in Ocean Shores, it was one terrific experience.
