More Animals of Southern Africa

Riverine Rabbit
Not only is the Buffalo strange looking, it is also one of the most unpredictable animals.
At Sabi Sabi we had a special treat. We got to see one of the rarest animals in Africa, the Wild Dog finish eating their kill.
There are only approximately 2200 of these animals remaining.
On our prior trip to Africa, we only saw one Rhino and baby at a great distance. This time we were fortunate to have a
very close encounter at Sabi Sabi with the White Rhino.
In this picture, there is a pregnant mother and two children (not twins)!
We saw quite a number of Monitor Lizards along the Chobe River. They eat Crocodile Eggs and grow to about a yard in
length.
