White Shark Cage Diving
October 1, 2008
Gansbaai, South Africa.
Gansbaai is the closest place to shore in the world where White Sharks can be predictably viewed. Fish oil is poured in
the water to attract the sharks. Bait is used but not fed to the sharks. A piece of wood shaped like a seal also floats on
the water to aid in attracting the sharks.
The White Shark diving does not appear to have any impact on humans in the area. Moreover, viewing the sharks does
a lot to make people appreciate this endangered species.

Remember, sharks kill 6 to 15 people a year. Humans kill 100,000,000 sharks a year. For more, go to this web page.
