King Penguins of South Georgia
King Penguins are the second largest species of penguin and live in the sub Antarctic.

Some of the King Penguin colonies on South Georgia are quite large--up to half a million.
Below, a parent feeding a chick. The belly of another adult in the back ground is a molting penguin.
King Penguins molting. They must stay out of the water while molting and they lose a significant amount of body weight in the
process. There were large groups of moulting penguins in the colonies.
