Elena and Elston's visit, page 2
There was still  snow along the ridge at Hurricane Ridge.
And what could be more cool than seeing the endangered
Olympic Marmot.
Our third full day, we
went to the west side.
At the Hoh Rain
Forest, we
encountered some elk
crossing the Hoh River.
Just before the entrance to the Hoh Rain Forest, we met two young river otters.
From the Hoh Rain Forest we continued on to the coast to Kalaloch Beach where Elston and Elena walked on the logs on the
beach.
After three days of activity, we slept in on Sunday and then went for a five mile walk along the water front. In the evening family
and friends joined us for a Christmas supper (in July). We all had a great time, and on Monday we drove two exhausted
children to SEATAC so they could board their plane back to the 100 degree plus weather in Dallas.
